Happy 1st Birthday affectivedesign.org!

Happy 1st Birthday affectivedesign.org! A little over a year ago, I started this blog to continue expanding my understanding of how design can better affect and reflect our emotional and psychological needs…

It’s been an emotional year for me, full of the incredible pleasure of accomplishment, but also tinged with the dramatic pain of unexpected loss. Through it all, I’ve been amazed at the response to this blog, and by the wonderful people I’ve met by writing it.

Since I started tracking stats with Google Analytics on Nov. 15, 2006, pages on the site have received over 21,000 visits from almost 8000 visitors. I continue to be amazed that so many people have found the information here interesting and I hope they find it valuable.

The relationships we have with the products and services we use everyday affect our lives in ways more profound than we realize, with implications for marketing, branding and design, but also for sustainability and new models of consumption.

In the coming year, I’ll be posting more of my own work in this area, more interviews and more on emotion and design!

Thanks for reading this past year!

Hi Trevor,
Congratulations!

I remember very well when we met in Sweden last year, that I felt honored that you were inspired by my website to start one yourself. You were very excited to start getting the word out there, and so you did!

Just as I think I was probably one of the first readers of your blog, I am also honored to be the first to congratulate you with a great achievement and hopefully there are many more ‘affective design’ years to come. 🙂

BW,
Marco

Thanks for your wishes Marco!

Thanks for all the help you’ve provided over the last year! i hope we can continue to work together on communicating the importance of this topic to people. 🙂

All the best,
Trevor
